Charbonnierobit-webWINCHESTER — Michele Charbonier, 49, a resident of Winchester and formerly of Melrose, passed away peacefully at Winchester Hospital on Sunday, January 8.

Michele was born in Malden, one of two children of the late Alfred P. Charbonier and Elaine D. (McLaughlin) Charbonier. She was raised in Melrose, and graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1985. She was married to Stephen Mazzola and together they had three children, Stephen II, Madison, and Shane. Michele’s life was characterized by her open heart, willingness to help anyone, and her true devotion to her children.

When Michele woke up, her first thought was always about her children, and when she went to bed, her last thought was always about her children. She was truly a dedicated mother, never missing an event and always thinking of them first. While her daughter Madison was cheerleading, Michele became the director for the Wakefield Pop Warner cheerleading team, and after moving to Winchester served as a Cheerleading Coach.

Michele loved life. She grew up as a ballet dancer, performed in the Boston Ballet at age 6, and from them on always loved to dance. She loved 80’s disco music, and for years, enjoyed going out dancing with family and friends.

A fun loving, sociable woman, Michele made friends easily, and loved being together with her friends and family. She told everyone she met how much she loved her kids, and never hesitated to post their pictures on Facebook. She loved her dogs, going shopping, and summer weekends spent on Paugus Bay on Lake Winnipesaukee.

Michele opened her heart to anyone in need and was a warm welcoming presence wherever she was. She took care of anyone, especially any lost soul who needed it. She will be lovingly remembered and forever cherished by her family and many friends.

Michele was the beloved wife of John Hicks, and former wife of Stephen Mazzola of Boca Raton, FL. She was the cherished daughter of the late Alfred P. Charbonier and Elaine D. (McLaughlin) Charbonier. She was the devoted mother of Stephen, Madison, and Shane Mazzola, all of Winchester. Loving sister of the late Kevin M. Charbonier. Caring aunt of Angell Bagnell of Woburn.

Relatives and friends gathered in honor and remembrance of Michele during visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Thursday, Jan. 12, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and again for her funeral service celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. For more info RobinsonFuneralHome.com
