SAUGUS — Saugus resident Jen Migliore, a former aide with U.S. Congressman Seth Moulton, plans to run for the seat now held by State Rep. Donald Wong.
In a release yesterday, her campaign people announced that Migliore became a full-time candidate this week, leaving her post with U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton’s office to focus on her candidacy for the Ninth Essex District seat.
“I want to thank Congressman Seth Moulton for the opportunity to serve the constituents of the Sixth Congressional District, which includes the communities of my hometown of Saugus, as well as the communities of Lynn and Wakefield. It was an honor to work closely with the Congressman, who is an incredible leader and mentor to me. He is the new generation of leadership on Capitol Hill and I will work tirelessly to become the new generation of leadership on Beacon Hill,” Migliore said.
Migliore completed her work as a district representative for U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016. Over the next few weeks, Migliore will launch a listening tour, holding events and visiting with voters in Lynn, Saugus and Wakefield to hear directly from residents. To date, her campaign has raised an impressive $22,000, helping fuel her momentous run for the Ninth Essex County District. “She has incredible enthusiasm. She also works hard every day, and I know she’ll continue to do so as she works to earn the votes of the constituents of the Ninth Essex District,” Congressman Moulton said.
Migliore will be a vocal advocate for the Ninth Essex District, standing up for residents on key issues like the potential closing of Union Hospital in Lynn. On Thursday, Jan. 7, Migliore testified against the potential closing, which could have devastating economic and public health consequences for North Shore residents.
Migliore is excited to launch her listening tour, bringing youthful enthusiasm and community passion as part of the new generation of leadership gaining momentum across the country. She will fight for the people of the Ninth Essex District and welcomes all residents to speak with her and have their concerns truly heard by a candidate that can deliver clear results.
Migliore is a lifelong resident of Saugus and a candidate for the Ninth Essex District seat to represent the communities of Lynn, Saugus and Wakefield. She attended high school at The Governor’s Academy, followed by Wellesley College where she graduated Cum Laude with a B.A. in Spanish and American Studies.
