Sheridan-obit-webMELROSE — She never ran a 5K, she never climbed a mountain or any other such life accomplishment. What she did do is survive everything life threw at her (good and bad) and she did it with grace and humor. She was stronger than most, loved by many and she will be missed more than she could ever have imagined.

Miriam “Mim” (Doucette) Sheridan, born on Dec. 3, 1916, died Oct. 16.

She was preceded in death by her oldest son Stephen Sheridan of Halfway, Ore., where his wife Sherry still resides.

She is survived by her children Edward and Julie Sheridan of Fitchburg, Janet and Sterling Lopez of Plaistow, N.H., Mark Sheridan of Melrose, Susan Sheridan and Jay Bleiler of Melrose and Kenneth and Dorothy Sheridan of Wakefield, N.H. She is also survived by six grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, as well as many family, friends and wonderful neighbors.

Burial arrangements will be private.

Mim’s family would like to thank the following people and agencies that made it possible for her to be where she most wanted to be: home.

Dr. Neal Nadelson of Melrose, Dr. Vincent Carli of Melrose, Mystic Valley Elder Services, ABC Homecare, Partners Healthcare at Home, Cataldo Ambulance Services/Chair Car.

And when the time came when she was no longer able to be home, we would like to thank Woodbriar Health Center in Wilmington. They treated her like one of their own family members.

Donations may be made in Mim’s memory to the following: Mystic Valley Elder Services, 300 Commercial St., #19, Malden MA 02148 or Shriners Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston MA 02114.
