BRIDGEWATER — The Lynnfield High girls’ track and field team competed in the MIAA Division 5 State Championships at Bridgewater State on Sunday on a warm, sunny day.
The Pioneers scored three points to place 30th overall. North Reading won the event with 94 points.
Shea Moore had the team’s best finish by coming in 6th in the pole vault. Her height was 7’6. Emilie Bell placed 9th in the discus with a toss of 103’06.
On May 18, the Pioneers participated in the Cape Ann League Meet at North Reading High. They came in 9th place with 26 points.
Abby Lopez was 2nd in the javelin with a throw of 95-9. Moore was 3rd in the pole vault at eight feet. Bell was 4th in the discus at 102 feet.
Alison Maddocks placed 5th in the triple jump (32-5) while Viola Wertz captured 6th in the two mile (13:00.71).
On May 11, the Pioneers came in 6th place out of nine schools at the 13th annual Henry Sheldon Invitational at Triton Regional High School up in Byfield with 34 points.
Bell came in 2nd in the discus at 100-05 feet. She was also 4th in the shot-put at 27-2.50 feet.
Eli Moretti placed 6th in the shot put at 27’1.50.
Abby Lopez was 4th in the javelin at 86’11 while Maddocks came in 8th in the triple jump at 31.2.50.
Moore placed 4th in the pole vault at 7.6.
In the two mile, Wertz was 3rd (13:06.54) while Gabby Bottaro was 4th (13:17.19).
Emma Greeenleaf came in 7th in the 400-meter hurdles (1:16.29).
