WAKEFIELD — Police have announced that the man found murdered in a wooded area at the end of Sunset Drive in Montrose has been identified as Jeffrey Raphael, 30, Lynn.
At approximately 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, Wakefield police received a 911 call from a passerby reporting the find of the murdered man’s body.
Officers who responded found Raphael deceased inside a vehicle, and indications were that the victim suffered gunshot wounds.
While this remains an active investigation, law enforcement officials believe this does not appear to be a random act of violence.
The case is under investigation of the Wakefield Police Department and Massachusetts State Police assigned to Middlesex District Attorney Marian T. Ryan’s office.
