MELROSE—Murphy’s Boxing event Mayhem in Melrose was held on Friday, March 29 at Melrose’s historic Memorial Hall on Main street. 

The main event was a match up between Stoneham native Greg Vendetti (20-3-1) and Alan Zavala (15-3). The sold out event also featured fights between Ryan Kielczweski, Mike Ohan, Jr., Louis Arcon-Diaz, Joe Farina and Joe Perella. 

Melrose’s Mike D’Ampolo was honored by Murphy’s Boxing by receiving the first annual Warrior Code Award, established to honor legendary New England based fighters. D’Ampolo was honored along with 87-year-old former champ and Hall of Fame inductee, Tony DeMarco. 

The two were presented plaques in the ring by Murphy’s Boxing’s Ken Casey and Sean Sullivan, receiving standing ovations from the sold out crowd.
