MALDEN — In May, the Nursing Department at Mystic Valley Elder Services (MVES) celebrated National Nurses Month in style. They honored the birthday of Florence Nightingale whose birthday coincides with National Nurses Month.

The team wore old-fashioned nurse caps, played a game of nursing trivia and had a cake in honor of the famous nursing pioneer. Lisa Felci Jimenez, MVES Director of Nursing, even wore a shirt emblazoned with Nightingale’s image and the phrase “Go With the Flo!” Jimenez shared some of Nightingale’s insights on nursing and how they are still relevant and inspirational for their profession in the modern world.

It was a wonderful day of team building as well as a great way to recognize the dedication of these frontline workers. For more about how MVES supports older adults, people with disabilities and their caregivers, visit mves.org or call 781-324-7705.
