NORWAY, Maine — Nancy B. (Burpee) Cutter, 79, of Norway, Maine. Beloved wife of 57 years to the late Robert C. Cutter. Died December 26, 2017 at home. Born in Stoneham, Mass. on March 30, 1938.

She had a master’s in Education from Salem State College and a bachelor’s degree in Education from Keene Teachers College (Keene State). A retired 4th grade teacher from Huckleberry Hill School, Lynnfield, Mass., she was a member of the Ladies Golf Association at Norway Country Club. Nancy lived in Reading, Mass. until she retired to Norway, Maine in 1998.

She was a great neighbor to all and a volunteer in her community. She had a passion for teaching, mentoring and supporting others. She loved to travel with friends. Nancy enjoyed reading and being involved in book clubs. She used her creativity to quilt and make cards. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She had wonderful memories of her time at Thompson Lake in Maine.

Loving Grandmother of Sara and Andrew Nemec and Jack Lydon. Sister of Richard Burpee and wife Beatrice Kertesz of Acton, Mass. In addition to her parents, William and Thelma Burpee she was preceded in death by her brother Robert Burpee and sister Barbara Burpee. Services for both Nancy Cutter and her husband, Bob will be held at 2 p.m. on January 20, at the First Congregational Church, South Paris. A celebration of their lives will be planned for this summer, on June 23, place and time to be announced.  Arrangements are under the care of Chandler Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 45 Main St., South Paris.
