WAKEFIELD — A chain reaction rear-end crash involving three vehicles drew police, firefighters and Action Ambulance personnel to Water Street in the area of Del Carmine Street at about 4:45 p.m. on Friday.

Police said that the lead car was a 2012 Nissan van driven by a Wakefield man. A 2008 Jeep Liberty driven by a New Jersey man was in the middle and the trailing vehicle was a 2015 Ford Escape.

There were no reported injuries.

At about 9:30 a.m. on Friday, a resident of Main Street across from J.J. Round Playground reported a tent behind her home near the railroad tracks. Police responded and sent the homeless occupants of the tent on their way.

At about 10:15 a.m. on Friday, police took a report from a man who said that his 2006 BMW X3 had been vandalized while parked on Prospect Street. Damage to the rear window was reported.

Police took a report regarding fraud from a Hopkins Street resident at about 2 p.m. on Friday.

Police arrested a 33-year-old Richardson Street man on a warrant at about 11:15 a.m. on Saturday.

At about 10:30 Saturday night, a Parker Road resident reported the possible theft of prescription medication from her home. The woman said that there had been people in her home prior to the the disappearance of the medication.

Police are investigating.

At about 9:45 p.m. Sunday, a woman came to the police station to report a theft involving two packages delivered to her home on Chestnut Street. The woman said that one package was missing and the other had been opened on the porch. The packages contained clothing and cleaning products.

Police went to a Water Street address at about 5:45 a.m. today after a homeowner reported finding two people sleeping on her front lawn. Police determined that the pair were male and female juveniles that had been reported missing by Malden Police.

Wakefield Police took the youths to Wakefield Police headquarters where they were picked up by Malden PD.

The Fire Department went on 14 runs over the weekend, of which 10 were medical aid calls.

At about 3 p.m. on Friday, firefighters went to a Salem Street address to extinguish a small mulch fire that had been sparked by a discarded cigarette.

On Sunday at about 3:30 p.m., firefighters responded to a report of illegal outside burning on Water Street.
