Enjoyed spending time at Castle Island

MALDEN — Norah M. (O’Regan) Woods, 76, of Malden, passed away at the Genesis at Glenridge Nursing Center in Medford on July 12, 2018.

Norah was born and raised in Somerville and a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School, Class of 1960. She worked as a secretary for the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge for over 20 years before her retirement in 2003. Norah was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Somerville and the Immaculate Conception Church in Malden for many years and she enjoyed spending time at Castle Island in South Boston. Norah’s family was the most important part of her life.

She was the loving mother of Laura A. Woods of Malden. Cherished grandmother of Evan C. Woods and Emmalyn C. Woods of Malden. Caring sister of Julia O’Regan, Catherine Cahill, both from Maine, Cornelius O’Regan of Somerville, Michael O’Regan of Burlington, Dennis O’Regan of N.H., James O’Regan of Somerville, Robert O’Regan of Manchester-by-the-Sea and the late John, Hannah, Thomas, Jeremiah, Charles and Mary O’Regan. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visiting hours were held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Tuesday, July 17. Procession from the Gately Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 18, was followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph’s Church, 770 Salem St., Malden. Relatives and friends were respectfully invited to attend. Burial in Cambridge Cemetery, Cambridge.
