Norman-Pepper_webZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – Norman E. Pepper, 88 of Zephyrhills, FL, formerly of Londonderry, NH and North Reading MA died on July 13, 2017. He was the husband of the late Marlene G. Doyle Pepper.

He was born on January 5, 1929 in Chelsea, MA. He grew up in Revere, MA and was the son of Charles A. and Caroline P. (Jellett) Pepper.

On July 30, 1949, he married Marlene Doyle and moved to North Reading where they raised their family.

After moving to North Reading, he joined the North Reading Fire Department, serving for many years and retiring as a Captain. During this time he also worked for many years at Munroe Fuel as a truck driver and oil burner technician.

He belonged to the North Reading Masonic Lodge and was a Past Master. He was also a Scottish Rite Mason, Valley of Boston and was a Shriner at Aleppo Temple.

He also enjoyed flying and held his private pilots license.

For many years, he loved to spend summers with his family at a camp in the White Mountains of NH that he built with his wife and family. He was a kind and quiet man who had a natural talent for fixing anything. He will be missed by his family and friends.

In 1976 he moved to Londonderry, NH and after retiring in 1978, he continued to do oil burner work until moving to Zephyrhills, FL in 1989. He then worked for various Security Guard companies for many more years.

While in NH and FL, he was an active member of various Baptist Churches until his medical issues started preventing him from it.

He is survived by his loving sons, Steven Pepper and Susan, of North Reading, MA; Charles Pepper and Paula of North Reading, MA; and Daniel J. Pepper of Zephyrhills, FL: five grandchildren Sabine, Eric, Jennifer, Jason and Ricky and his great-grandchildren Ashley, Amber, Erica, Alexa and Caleb.
