The North Reading Diamond Club will host its 7th Annual Golf Tournament on Friday, Aug. 19 at Hillview Country Club.

The Diamond Club is the official fundraising organization supporting North Reading baseball. They’ve existed for over 30 years to award scholarships for graduating NRHS seniors as well as for improvements to Carey Park and other baseball and softball-used facilities throughout town.

This years’ scholarship recipients are Ryan Baker (Todd Verdonck Memorial Scholarship) and Matthew Ryan (Robert Hunt Memorial Scholarship).

Recent funding has been used to maintain the Carey Park dugouts along with the Gloria Mastro Snack Shack located at the NRHS varsity baseball diamond.

Each year, the Diamond Club also honors a recipient with an Award of Distinction for their service to the community. Past awards have included school administrators, local business owners, youth league directors as well as prominent alumni.

The 2022 recipient for the Diamond Club Award of Distinction will go to Michael Connelly, Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations from the North Reading School Department.

The Diamond Club invites all community members to join us on Friday Aug. 19. Registration details can be found at: www.birdease.com/nrdcgolf.

A single golfer registration is $175 for 18 holes of golf plus cart and a logo-sponsored swag bag. Catered lunch will be provided by the Horseshoe Grille.

Individual awards with raffles and silent auction winners will be announced at the lunch immediately following the tournament.

Hole sponsorships are also available for any local businesses who wish to donate in support of North Reading Baseball.

We are looking forward to another great, sold-out event on Aug. 19!
