NORTH READING — The Fit Revolution Hornet Hustle 5K returns this Saturday, April 6 at 9 a.m. starting at the Third Meeting House on the Common, 157 Park St.

Registration ends tonight (April 4) for this benefit road race. Proceeds will benefit the North Reading Fire Department’s renovation project, which is planned to extend equipment bays to accommodate modern apparatus, add an area for firefighters to decontaminate upon returning from fire scenes, and increase dormitory space, among other potential modifications.

Packet pick-up is Friday, April 5 from 4–6 p.m. at Fit Revolution, 55 Concord St., North Reading. To date, 125 participants have signed up.

Prizes will be awarded to the first-place female and male overall finishers and to the top female and male competitors in each age bracket.

A map of the race route is available on the site. Strollers are welcome, but please leave dogs and bikes at home.

Since resurrecting this fun community event in 2013, Fit Revolution has contributed over $18,000 in race proceeds to the North Reading community.
