The town has a new centenarian among us. It’s time to celebrate the 100th birthday of Jack Garrity, a retired Fire Chief for the city of Malden and a WWII Army Air Corps veteran.

Jack resides at Royal Meadowview, 134 North Street and is the father of Lorri McBride of North Reading, a retired Little School kindergarten teacher. Chief Garrity turns 100 years old on Friday, July 26 and a birthday bash is being held from 2 to 5 p.m. A family party is being held on Sunday, July 28 at the Horseshoe as well, because you can never have too many birthday parties!

Stop by for some cake and to shake the hand of a war hero and first responder! He’d love to chat with you about the good ol’ days! RSVP to Karen Coffey (KCoffey@royalhealthgroup.com). If you can’t stop by, consider sending him a birthday card!
