NORTH READING — Their adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing” brought them all the way to state finals in the prestigious Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild (METG) Drama Festival held in Boston’s Back Bay on Saturday.

And they have the hardware to prove it. Although they did not finish in the top 3 to advance to the next level in New York, the North Reading High School Masquers were among the top 14 one-act plays in the state this year, from an original field of 112 schools!

And they also added three more awards to their impressive collection!

Senior Brian Conlon won the Best Featured Actor award; the threesome of Piper Kirwin, Grace Coleman and Rachel Duval won for Best Costumes; and the crew of James Dillon, Danika Reid, Adriana Gonzales, Marshall Murray, Daniela Voisinet, Sofia Naulivou, Stevie Schomp and Matt Capalbo won Best Set Design.

All-in-all, it was a great spring and a fantastic run for these talented performers and entertainers.
