NORTH READING — The NRHS cheerleading team won the Cape Ann League Kinney Division and had the second highest score in the league at CAL’s hosted by North Reading High on Nov. 6.
The Hornets will advance to the Regional Competition on Nov. 14 at Billerica Memorial High School.
This is the sixth year in a row the team has won a Cape Ann League title for either the fall or winter teams. It is also the 11th straight year that NR has qualified for the postseason tournament.
The team is relatively young this season. North Reading has 16 total members, 11 of them take the competition floor. The team includes five seniors, two juniors and nine sophomores. They were the only team in the Cape Ann League to represent the league in the virtual tournaments last year.
“Keeping them working last year was huge in helping them to stay competitive in our league this year,” said head coach Kathleen Roy.
