NORTH READING — Despite sophomore Julia Howse’s unbelievable triple-double performance the Haverhill Hillies scored with less than 10 seconds left on the clock to snag a 66-65 victory over the Lady Hornets on February 11.

Howse was unstoppable with 24 points, 21 rebounds and 10 blocked shots. Junior Allie Grasso was terrific as well with 18 points and six assists.

Senior captain Casey McAuliffe was the only other NRHS player in double figures with 12 points.

Celebrate Senior Night with a 48-35 victory over Ipswich

After the heartbreaking loss to Haverhill the Hornets returned home to celebrate Senior Night on February 13th and tamed the Ipswich Tigers 48-35. Julia Howse and Casey McAuliffe led the way with 12 and 11 points respectively.

Before the opening tipoff senior captains Mia DeNofrio and Casey McAuliffe were honored alongside fellow seniors Sidney Davis and team manager Kiley Martel.

Down Triton in final road game of regular season

On Thursday, the Hornets traveled to Triton for their last road game of the regular season and defeated the Vikings 53-39.  With the win North Reading improves to 13-6 on the season.

Julia Howse was the leading scorer for NRHS for the third straight game with 14 points. Allie Grasso scored 13 points.  Mia DeNofrio had an outstanding defensive game, as usual, and hit three 3-pointers for nine points.
