FITCHBURG — Senior co-captain Nathan Miller capped off his high school career with two Meet of Champion medals, given to the top 8 athletes in the entire state for their events last weekend at Fitchburg State.
Miller finished 4th in the 200 Meter Dash with a brand new school record of 22.07 for the event. He broke the record set by Jeff Moda in 1988 by a whopping .27 of a second. He followed it up with a 7th place finish in the 100 Meter Dash with a time of 11.11.
“For Nathan to earn two medals in the two fastest events at the all state level is just an amazing feat,” said Hornets head coach Ryan Spinney. “Nathan will graduate as the greatest sprinter in NRHS history as he now has the Spring Track 100 and 200 individual school records, was a part of the Sprint Medley record team and is also second all time in the long jump. He also is the school record holder in the Winter Track 300 Meter Dash. He would tell you that the records were never his primary focus. Every day he showed his teammates what it takes to be the best you can be and he always led by example. That is the hallmark of a true leader and teammate. His imprint on our program will be hard to replicate.”
Thank you all for your support of the Spring Track program this year.
