NORTH READING — This month, North Reading High School is joining 27,000 schools across the nation to make a difference and raise money to end blood cancer.
Led by the Interact Club, the “Pennies for Patients” fundraiser began this past Monday and will run through the end of the month. All donations will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, which works to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
In addition to working toward finding a cure, proceeds will help families of patients pay for medicines, doctors and other expenses. In the High School, “Pennies for Patients” boxes will be placed in each PowerBlock classroom for students to donate.
Parents, family members, friends, and North Reading community members can donate online at: https://events.lls.org/pages/ma/NorthReadingHighSchool-2018 – just look for the red “Donate Today” box.
All donations are greatly appreciated and are not limited to pennies. This year, NRHS is hoping to reach their goal of $1,000 raised to help end blood cancer. Please consider donating and helping the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society save lives of blood cancer patients not someday but today. Thank you for your support.
