Overnight snowfall has caused numerous trees and tree limbs to fall, blocking roads and bringing down utility wires. Drivers are urged to use caution while travelling. While a road may be open, there are downed limbs partially obstructing travel lanes. DPW crews continue to push storm debris to the side of the roads to keep roads open where possible. The public is advised to treat any downed wire as if it is live, and exercise caution when shoveling the snow.
As of 9:00 AM, Reading Municipal Light Department reported approximately 125 customers without power in North Reading at the following locations: Anthony Road., Central Street, Erwin Road, and Tower Hill Road.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION:
-Treat every downed utility wire as if it is live.
-If you operate a generator, place it outdoors facing away from doors, windows, and vents. Never use a generator inside a house, basement, or crawl space – not even inside a garage with the door open. When possible, place the generator 5-10 feet away from the house.
