NORTH READING — The North Reading Police will be conducting alcohol compliance checks with local liquor establishments, in accordance with Massachusetts state law, in the coming days.

“This is an ongoing endeavor to keep the community of North Reading safe. Enforcing laws prohibiting the sale of alcohol to underage persons can have extensive community benefits, including preventing traffic crashes, the major cause of death among youth,” explains Amy Luckiewicz, the town’s Drug-Free Communities grant coordinator.
