NORTH READING — Following months of planning, public presentations and horse trading, the Select Board has approved the annual Spring Town Meeting Warrant, a copy of which should arrive by mail in the homes of all residents over the weekend or by next Monday.

In advance of the Annual Town Meeting, which will be held on Monday, June 12 at 7 p.m. in the gymnasium at NRHS, the Select Board will host its informational hearing on Monday, May 22 at 8 p.m.

Monday night’s information meeting will be held both in person, in Room 14 at Town Hall, 235 North St. and virtually, and it is designed to provide members of the public the opportunity to ask questions about or discuss any of the 35 warrant articles to be acted upon on June 12. The Town Meeting process on June 12 will determine, among other things, the town’s FY24 operating budget of $87,342,788, which includes school expenses of $37,319,595; municipal expenses of $19,291,970; and fixed costs of $23,660,145.
