Virtual ceremony on NORCAM
Although the traditional Memorial Day parade and services on the Town Common have been canceled this year, a 2021 Memorial Day ceremony will be conducted as a virtual event at 11 a.m. on Memorial Day. It will be broadcast by NORCAM at that time. The public is invited to watch the ceremony on any of the NORCAM public access channels for Comcast and Verizon – Public Channel: Comcast – Channel 8 and Verizon – Channel 26; Government Channel: Comcast – Channel 22 and Verizon – Channel 24; and Educational Channel: Comcast – Channel 99 and Verizon – Channel 28.
This ceremony will include messages from town officials, interviews with veterans, and photographs and video footage from past parades and Minit and Militia ceremonies at the town’s cemeteries. The compilation represents many hours of work by dozens of townspeople, with NORCAM staff pulling all the pieces together to solemnly remember those who gave their lives in service to our country.
