NORTH READING — The North Reading Historical and Antiquarian Society and Union Congregational Church are sponsoring the 2nd annual Strawberry Festival from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 24 at the Rev. Daniel Putnam House grounds, 27 Bow St.

The summer event will include free strawberry shortcake, though donations will be accepted to help defray the cost. The Strawberry Festival will also feature cornhole games and attendees can visit the historic buildings on the Putnam House grounds, including the 1720 Rev. Daniel Putnam House, Farm Museum, West Village Schoolhouse, Sgt. Flint House, and First Meeting House.

There will be demonstrations by the North Reading Company of Minit and Militia and attendees can see the progress being made on the latest addition to the grounds: an early 1900s windmill from the Van Latham farm in town.

In case of inclement weather, a rain date is for the same time on Sunday, June 25.
