Enjoyed summers at York Beach, Newfound Lake

STONEHAM — Alice S. (Sloane) Kennedy of Stoneham passed away on Friday, August 6, 2021 at age 97.

Alice was the beloved wife of 55 years to the late Robert J. Kennedy. She was the devoted mother of Kathleen M. Staunton, Robert J. Kennedy Jr. and Earlene K. Masiello and her husband Sebastian. She was the cherished grandmother of Laura Gregg and her husband Christopher; Gregory Staunton, Robert Masiello, Christian Masiello, and Brandon Kennedy. Alice was the great-grandmother of six. She was the dear sister of the late Robert Sloane, Mary Harding, Elizabeth Hubbard and Catherine Sloane.

Prior to having children, Alice worked as a stenographer. In later years, while raising her children, she worked part time as a cafeteria worker in the Stoneham school system. She retired in 1990 after 22 years.

Alice enjoyed summer vacations at York Beach and Newfound Lake with her family. When retired, she and her husband spent time in Arizona with family and enjoyed trips to casinos, eating out and playing cards with friends.

In later years, Alice spent time at the Stoneham Senior Center playing bingo and enjoying the company of friends. She enjoyed Sunday dinners with her children and grandchildren.

A funeral Mass celebrating Alice’s life was held on Tuesday, August 10 at St. Patrick Church, 71 Central Street, Stoneham. Interment was in St. Patrick’s Cemetery Stoneham.
