Always supported food and clothing drives

NORTH READING — Anita R. (Materazzo) Butler, 61, of North Reading, formerly of Medford and Cambridge, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading.
Born in Cambridge on November 3, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Lillian (Gronokowski) Materazzo. She was raised in Cambridge and was a graduate of Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School.
Anita worked as a mortgage specialist for 20 years at the Stoneham Bank and other banks for a total of 36 years in banking. She had been a resident of North Reading for the past 30 years and was a member of St. Theresa’s Church. Anita supported all of the church’s drives for clothing and food. She also supported Toys for Tots drives and did whatever she could to donate to these worthwhile causes.
Anita cared for all people, whatever they had going on. She was always caring and touched a lot of people’s lives. Anyone who met her became her friend for life.
Family members include her loving husband of 40 years, William S. Butler; her brothers, Dave Matthews and his wife Barbara of Lynnfield, Paul Materazzo and his wife Margie of Cambridge and the late Anthony Materazzo; sisters, Joanne Materazzo of Medford and Jane DeMarco of Staten Island, New York.
Her funeral will be held at St. Theresa’s Church, 63 Winter Street (Rte. 62), North Reading on Saturday, January 4 at 10:30 a.m. A collation will follow at Angelica’s Restaurant, 49 S. Main Street, Middleton. There will be no calling hours.
