Former owner of Munroe Oil Burner Service

PEABODY — Arthur R. Munroe, 80, of Peabody, formerly of North Reading and Lynnfield, died on Monday, October 21, 2019 at his residence.

Born in Lynn on September 19, 1939, he was the son of the late Angus and Adeline (Murphy) Munroe.

Mr. Munroe was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1957. He served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Munroe was a former police officer for the town of Lynnfield, the retired owner of Munroe Oil Burner Service in North Reading and had worked for Federal Heating in Winchester. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing.

Mr. Munroe was the husband of Dennise F. (Diggins) Munroe. He was the father of Erin Lynne Tropeano and her husband Anthony of Lynnfield and the late Dennis A. Munroe. Mr. Munroe was the brother of Charles Munroe of Florida and Dorothy Gage of Amesbury. He was the grandfather of Tony Tropeano Jr. his and fiancée Felicia, Nick Tropeano and his wife Fran, Joseph Tropeano and his wife Katelyn, Stephanie MacDonald and her husband Tyler, Frankie Tropeano, Mike Yacubian and the late Sonny Tropeano.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday, October 25 from 4-7 p.m. Funeral Mass in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield, on Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.
