Enjoyed birding, antiquing, family vacations in Maine

NORTH READING — Barbara L. (Hooper) Towers, 76, of North Reading, formerly of Lynnfield and Tewksbury, died at her home on Sunday, July 21, 2019.

Born in Weymouth on January 5, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Marjorie (Lyons) Hooper. She was raised and attended school in Tewksbury and was a graduate of Tewksbury High School, Class of 1960.

Barbara worked for many years for Dynamic Research Corporation (D.R.C.) in Wilmington.

She was a loving mother of three, devoted wife, doting grandparent and great-grandmother.

Barbara loved watching and feeding her birds, antiquing, going to York Beach, vacations at the family camp in Sargentville, Maine, cooking for her family, and gardening.

Family members include her loving husband of 56 years, Daniel Towers; her sons, Mark Towers, Steven Towers and the late Kevin Towers; her late daughter, Melissa Dickinson; her late brother, Roger Hooper; six grandchildren, Douglas, Daniel and Ambur Towers, Michael and Robert Dickinson and Nicole Parker; four great-grandchildren, Zoey, Max and Catherine Towers, and a new baby on the way.

Calling hours will be held at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading, on Sunday, July 28 from 1 to 4 p.m. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her memory to the charity of one’s choice.
