Library assistant and familiar face at bingo games

SOUTH YARMOUTH — Eleanor F. Jordan, 94, of South Yarmouth died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017 at the Courville Nursing home in Nashua, New Hampshire.
Born May 23, 1923 in Saugus, Eleanor graduated from Saugus High School in 1941. After working at the Reading Public Library for some years, Eleanor decided to enroll at the University of New Hampshire and earn a certificate in library Science and went on to become a library assistant. After her retirement, Eleanor moved to South Yarmouth where she was a member of the NARFE. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was a familiar face at the bingo games.
She was predeceased by her parents Marjorie F. and Leonard A. Popp. Eleanor was married to the late Thomas M. Jordan for 57 years and is survived by her daughters Gail Lewis and husband Terry Lewis of Grey, Maine; and Diane Cullen of Hudson, New Hampshire. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Michael Whitney and Paula Marlowe of South Yarmouth, Carolyn Whitney of Hudson, N.H., Diane Buonomo of Salem, N.H., and Jennifer Buonomo of Nashua, N.H. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Mathew, Jordan and Breanna.
A funeral service for Eleanor was held at the Hallett Funeral Home located at 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth, on Tuesday, Dec. 12, with a burial at Chandler Grey Cemetery following the service.
