Had a zest for life and made friends everywhere she went

WILMINGTON — Eleanor M. (DiGloria) Cirillo, affectionately known as “Ellie,” died at age 97 at Windsor Place of Wilmington on Wednesday, February 9, 2022.

Born on August 9, 1924 and a graduate of Medford High School, Ellie married the love of her life, the late Anthony “Tony” Cirillo, in 1949 in Boston. The couple raised their three children, Ann, Elaine and Stephen, in Medford and moved to North Reading in 1964.

After raising her family, Ellie became a real estate broker for Kaine and Wentworth Realty in Reading. She loved the real estate business and became very successful in this career, receiving many acknowledgements and awards for her accomplishments.

Upon retirement Ellie and Tony relocated to Boca Raton, Florida where they enjoyed a very active life. Ellie became the president of the Ladies Social League in their Sandalfoot South community. She planned many trips and activities and she and Tony traveled and cruised to many different places. She had a zest for life and made friends everywhere she went.

After Tony passed, Ellie moved back to North Reading to be closer to family. Eventually she moved to Windsor Place of Wilmington where she was a very active member of the assisted living community. She made some wonderful friends there and was truly loved by the care staff.

Ellie leaves behind her daughter Ann and her husband, Charles, of North Reading, her daughter Elaine of Whitesboro, N.Y., and her son, Stephen Cirillo and his wife Gail of West Roxbury.
