READING — George W. “Georgie” Souza Jr., 61, of Reading passed away on May 4, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Karen (Leonardo) Souza and the loving father of Nicholas, Daniel, Catherine and Michael Souza of Reading.

Born March 2, 1957, he was the son of the late George Sr. and Lorraine Souza, the son-in-law of Theresa Leonardo and Henry Murphy of Reading, and the brother of Linda Sousa and her husband Joseph of Reading and John Souza of New Hampshire.

George truly enjoyed working as the Store Manager at the UPS Store in North Reading for years along with many other things. To his friends and family, he was nothing but kind-hearted and would always greet the world with a warm smile. His peers always got the best guidance and advice as the listener that he was, along with receiving the best hugs around.

George spent time with his wife and kids each chance he had and loved watching his kids grow up playing sports. George was also an avid sports fan. His favorite sport was basketball. He enjoyed shooting hoops and watching the Celtics with his family. Other than sports, George also loved the outdoors and would spend all day visiting Hampton Beach with his family and taking walks around Harold Parker during his lunch breaks.
