U.S. Army veteran of the Iraq War

FITCHBURG — Glen Alan Dobson, Jr., 36, of Fitchburg, formerly of Washington and North Reading, died unexpectedly at his home on February 22, 2019.

Born in Washington, D.C. on August 24, 1982, he was a graduate of Saint Bernard’s Catholic High School in Fitchburg and Wyoming Tech in Wyoming.

Glen was a dedicated U.S. Army veteran of the Iraq War. He served from 2004 to 2012 as a Sergeant Engineer Equipment Repairer, in charge of QAQC. Prior to the service he worked as an auto body mechanic.

Glen enjoyed drawing, autos, cooking and was involved in veterans issues. He had a special smile, a quick wit and had a great love for his family.

Family members include his loving daughters, OliviaJane K. Dobson and ErikaJoy K. Dobson, of Raymond, Washington; his mother, Kerry A. (Muise) Henshaw and her husband Wayne of Groveland; his sister, Danielle Carlson her husband Jeremy of Haverhill; and his nephews, Michael, Ryan and Jacob Carlson. He was the son of the late Glen A. Dobson, Sr.

Calling hours will be held at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading on Friday, March 1 from 4 to 7 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 2 at 11 a.m. in Riverside Cemetery, North Reading. A procession will leave from the funeral home at 10:45 a.m.
