WAKEFIELD — James E. Good, 82, of Wakefield, died on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at the Bear Hill Nursing Center.
Born in Boston on June 6, 1937, he was the son of the late James E. and Helen (Fleming) Good.
Mr. Good was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1956. He was a retired pipefitter for Local #537.
Mr. Good was a former Wakefield selectman, serving several terms including the position of chairman. He also served on the Board of Public Works. Mr. Good was a former coach for Wakefield Pop Warner football, Wakefield Babe Ruth and Wakefield Youth Hockey. He was a member of St. Joseph Parish.
Mr. Good is survived by his wife, Jane (Rudolph) Good; his two sons, Michael J. Good and his wife Christine of Newburyport and Patrick J. Good and his wife Marcia of North Reading, his daughter, Beth A. Connelly and her husband Bill of Malden; his brother, John Good of Haverhill and his sister, Mary Starr of Wakefield. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Michaela, Harrison, Cricket, Ryan and Kaitlyn.
His funeral was held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield, on Monday, September 9, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield. Interment was in Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield. Visitation for relatives and friends was held at the funeral home on Sunday, September 8.
