WEST PALM BEACH, Florida — Joseph W. Ferrara Sr., 75, passed from this life on April 17, 2018, in West Palm Beach, Florida, surrounded by his wife, children and family.

He was born April 27, 1942 in Boston to the late Santo J. and Mary C. Ferrara.

He graduated from North Reading High School in 1960 and was a longtime resident of Newton, N.H. before moving to West Palm Beach.

He loved to spend his time working on cars, was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed making coin jewelry.

Joseph was preceded in death by his oldest son, Joseph W. Ferrara Jr., and his brother, John C. Ferrara.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Condon Ferrara, of West Palm Beach; his brother, Robert J. Ferrara, of Newton, N.H., his children, Holly J. Toohey and her husband, William, of Newton, N.H. and Daniel J. Ferrara, of Londonderry, N.H.; his daughter-in-law, Kathy Denehy Ferrara of Lee, N.H.; his brother-in-law, Earl Marston of Hollywood, Fla., a stepson, Andrew Condon of West Palm Beach, Fla.; a niece, Erin Ferrara, and nephew, Robert Ferrara Jr.; his beloved grandchildren, Nicholas, Matthew, Hannah, Billy, Kyle and Bryanna; and longtime friends David Haddad and Jerry and Anne Stearns.

His family would like to offer their sincere thanks to the wonderful staff at Gerstenberg Care Center Hospice, who gave him such outstanding care and dignity in his last days.

A family graveside service is planned for Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 12 p.m. at the Highland Cemetery in Newton, N.H. Please contact the family for further information.
