Loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed crafting with her grandkids

CHESTER, N.H. — Judith A. Wallace, 82, of Chester, N.H., died Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at the Bedford Hills Center in Bedford, N.H.

She was born in Winthrop on May 13, 1939, the daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret (Morrison) Doherty.

Judith was a graduate of Saugus High School in Saugus. She owned and operated the Studio for Dance in North Reading along with her daughter-in-law, Kathleen Potter. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed crafting with her grandkids as they were growing up. Judy also loved going to the gym for not only the exercise, but the social aspect too. She enjoyed walking her dog, Maggie.

She is survived by her daughter, Lori Potter of Chester, and her son, Dan Potter of Bedford, Mass. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Elizabeth and Samantha of Chester, and Melissa, Tommy, Jared, Mark, Sarah and Griffin, all of North Reading; as well as four great-grandchildren, three brothers, Arthur Doherty of Vista, California, William Doherty of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and Robert Doherty of Manchester, N.H., and one sister, Linda Saporito of Ipswich, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Arthur W. Potter, and her second husband, Edmund J. Wallace.

Following cremation, graveside services will be held at Puritan Lawn, Peabody. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium of Derry and Londonderry is assisting the family with arrangements.
