Devoted wife, mother, sister and friend

DALLAS, TEXAS — Margaret (Docherty) Crotty, who was born in Scotland and was a long-time resident of Charlestown, Mass., where she raised her six children, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2021 at the age of 85 in Dallas, Texas.

Margaret was the loving wife of 54 years to the late Arthur Crotty, a life-long “Townie” and union member of the International Longshoreman’s Association (ILA).

Margaret was the mother of Arthur Crotty and his wife Joan of North Reading, David Crotty and his wife Donna of Texas, Ken Crotty and his wife Mary of Winchester, Ellen Crotty and her husband Edward Pistorino of Charlestown, and the late Stephen Crotty and William (Billy) Crotty of Charlestown.

She is also survived by 14 grandchildren who loved her dearly and always enjoyed listening to her Scottish accent and stories. Margaret enjoyed time with her grandkids, weekly Bingo with friends, and an occasional visit to the casino. Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend to many. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Services and burial will be privately held.
