Devoted to her family and cherished their family dinners

NORTH READING — Marilyn M. (Scrima) Barringer, 74, of North Reading, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 after a brief illness.

Born in Boston on October 14, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Generoso and Nancy Scrima. Marilyn grew up in Somerville and graduated from Somerville High School. She married her husband, Billy, and raised their family in North Reading. Marilyn loved shopping and spending time with her pets (Max, Nicky, Pedro and Oliver) but most of all she loved being with her family. Family dinners were her favorite time.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, William Barringer. She was the devoted mother of Karen O’Connor and her husband John Robert of North Reading, Brent Barringer and his wife Andrea of Charlestown, and Jill Borgonzi and her husband Mike of Kansas City, Missouri. She was the beloved Mimi to William O’Connor, Joseph and Nina Borgonzi, and Parker Barringer.

Marilyn was the sister of Jeanne DiNardo and her husband Angie, Pat Scrima and his fiancé Paula Bross, and Jodi Kader and her husband Essam as well as the sister -in-law of Virginia Kirlis and Nancy and Jimmy Byrne. She was also the aunt to many nieces and nephews; she leaves a large family and close friends.

Services for Marilyn will be held privately.
