FORT MYERS, Florida — Martha “Ann” Finigian, 53, a resident of Fort Myers, Florida and formerly of Stoneham, Wakefield and Methuen, Mass., passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, October 17, 2018.

Ann was born on September 27, 1965 in Melrose, one of three children of the late Martin Finigian Jr. and Mary G. (Kelley) Finigian.

Ann was raised in Stoneham where she graduated from Stoneham High School. She attended Northern Essex Community College and earned her nursing degree from Southern New Hampshire University. She resided in Stoneham, Wakefield and Methuen for many years before moving to Florida to be closer to family. An experienced and kind nurse, Ann recently worked as a visiting nurse for Lee Medical in Florida.

Ann had a determined and positive outlook throughout her life. Dedicated to her family, and loyal to her friends, Ann was well loved by all. Most importantly, Ann dedicated herself to others, whether to her pets, Baby Girl Bella and Jaxon, or while kindly caring for her patients as a visiting nurse. She also provided tender and loving care for her late father and his wife Charlotte.

While residing in Massachusetts, Ann was a member of the Green Street Baptist Church in Melrose where she sung in the choir and was a member of their gospel choir “Joyful Noise.” In her free time, she enjoyed gathering with family for holidays, spending summers on Lake Winnipesaukee or sailing in Florida with her father. Her other interests included target shooting and cooking.

Compassionate and understanding, Ann offered her bubbly personality and capable hands to all those she cared for. She will be deeply missed, but her impact as a caregiver will always be treasured.

Ann was the loving sister of Martin Finigian III and his wife Laura of Waxhaw, N.C., and John E. Finigian of Punta Gorda, Florida. She was the former wife of Lenny Aversa of Methuen and the beloved daughter of the late Mary G. (Kelley) “Jane” Finigian, Martin Finigian Jr., and the late Charlotte A. (Burns) Finigian. Ann was the caring niece of Eileen Duff of Waltham, Mass., Frances DiFabio of North Fort Myers, Florida, and Beverly Finigian of Wilmington, Mass., formerly of North Reading, Mass. She was the loving aunt of Jennifer Finigian of Waxhaw, N.C. and Stephanie Finigian of North Reading, Mass. She is also survived by many cousins, including Lisa (Finigian) Neukuckatz and her husband Hans of North Reading, and Wanda (Finigian) McLaren and her husband Tom of Wilmington, and a large circle of friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather in honor and remembrance of Ann’s life for her memorial service at the Green Street Baptist Church, 179 Green St., Melrose, on Friday, November 9 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Lindenwood Cemetery, 57 Montvale Ave., Stoneham.
