Active member of the Saint Theresa Parish for many years

WILMINGTON — Mary (Scrima) Greco of Wilmington, loving mother and wife passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on May 20, 2022 in Williston, South Carolina at the age of 90 surrounded by her immediate family.

Mary is the beloved wife of the late Joseph Greco and is survived by her children Stephen, daughter Donna (Greco) Spang of Wilmington and Pamela (Greco) Flynn of S.C. and her brother, the very Reverend Fr. Claude Scrima O.F.M. of St. Leonard’s Parish in Boston. Mary is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Mary was born and raised in Boston’s North End. She was the daughter of the late Antonio and Palmina (Uva) Scrima. She lived in Watertown and eventually settled in Wilmington where she spent fifty years of her life. Mary is pre deceased by siblings Connie Zarrella and Sylvia Pisano of Saugus, Gilda Pasto of Worcester and Michael D. Scrima of Boise, ID.

Mary worked as a food server for several years before being employed by the Walgreens Pharmacy chain from which she retired in 2014. She was an active member of the Saint Theresa Parish in North Reading for many years. Mary loved family outings, vacations, traveling, cooking and dining out. She was a general contributor to animal welfare and had many cats and dogs over the years.

Relatives and friends are invited to join with the family on Thursday, Sept. 29 in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington at 12 noon for a graveside prayer service.
