Homemaker enjoyed NASCAR, traveling, family gatherings

 

FLAGLER BEACH, Fla. — Virginia L. DeLorenzo, 92, of Flagler Beach, Florida, died Saturday May 7, 2022 at Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House, Palm Coast. She was born in Glendale, California to Gordon L. and Rosezella V. Close Berry. Virginia moved to Edgewater, Fla. from North Reading, Mass. in 1988. She moved to Flagler Beach, Fla., in August, 2020.

She was a homemaker, a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and when she was younger she enjoyed NASCAR and was a big Dale Earnhardt fan. Virginia took joy in traveling locally, a favorite spot being Key West, Fla. She loved family gatherings, the holidays and especially enjoyed having her glass of wine. Virginia was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her three daughters, Susan (Don Vachon) Wilson, of Laconia, N.H.; Debi (Jim) Nardone, of Flagler Beach, Fla.; Beth (Alan) Long, of Cape Elizabeth, Maine; her son, Rick (Susan Demers) DeLorenzo, of Flagler Beach, Fla.; five granddaughters, Mary (Brian) O’Donnell, Kara (Steve) LeVan, Taylor (Aidee Ramos) Nardone; Sarah (Nick Garcia) Long and Paige Long; three grandsons, Eddie (Danielle) Wilson, Zack Nardone, and Noah Long; and two great-granddaughters, Keegan and Cali; and two great-grandsons, Eddie and Luca.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 58 years, James, and her granddaughter, Abigail Long.

Her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 16, 2022 at the Settle-Wilder Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater, Florida. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2022 at the Settle-Wilder Chapel.
