NORTH READING – With Ash Wednesday coming up next week that means it’s time for the Lenten lobster bisque that is made by the pastor of the Union Congregational Church, Rev. Dr. Richard Hughes.

The lobster bisque will be available every Friday beginning next Friday, March 4, and will continue through Good Friday which is April 15 this year. Because of the pandemic the bisque will be available for takeout only. There will be no sit down luncheon in the church’s Fellowship Hall.

Orders for quarts of the lobster bisque can be made by calling the church office, 978-664-3703 or by sending an email to: office@nrucc.org. Because of the demand it is recommended that the orders be made in advance.

The suggested price per quart is $12 and the bisque will be ready for pick up between 10 a.m. and noon each Friday. All safe serve and social distancing protocols will be followed while making the lobster bisque and during the weekly pick up.
