NORTH READING – North Reading Veterans’ Services invites the public to participate in its first ever Wreaths Across America ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 12 noon at Riverside Cemetery, 171 Elm St.

Come to honor the fallen, celebrate those who serve, and inspire future generations with the values of freedom by joining with the more than two million volunteers and supporters who will gather to remember, honor and teach at more than 4,600 participating locations in all 50 states, at sea and abroad.

This is the mission of Wreaths Across America, and you can be a part of it by hanging a wreath and participating in the town’s ceremony.

For those who wish to volunteer to mindfully lay wreaths on the graves of our veterans, the wreath hanging begins at 11 a.m.

Volunteer space is limited to 50 volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering to lay wreaths, please call 978-505-1241 to leave a message with your name and phone number.

There is no need to sign up to attend the ceremony at noon on Saturday.

“We hope you can join us in this meaningful tribute,” said Veterans Service Officer TJ Tedeschi.
