NORTH READING — Over the past several days, North Reading Little League has received several reports of residents receiving phone calls from an organization stating they are fundraising for “North Reading’s 12/13-year-old Babe Ruth Eastern Conference League.”
North Reading Little League does not play in such a league, and the organization making the calls has no connection to North Reading Little League and is not authorized to raise funds on the league’s behalf. Residents are asked to not donate to this group.
Residents who’ve received such a call and/or made a donation may direct any inquiries to the North Reading Police Department, which is conducting an active investigation.
