WAKEFIELD — A driver was cited yesterday morning following a two-vehicle collision at the Dunkin’ Donuts on Main Street in the Junction.
One of the drivers involved was taken to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital for treatment of injuries sufffered when the driver of a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero was operating north on Main Street when he came into contact with a 2015 Toyota Highlander that was making a prohibited left hand turn while exiting the coffee and donut shop.
The driver of the Highlander was cited for making an improper turn.

About 20 parking tickets were issued on Albion Street yesterday beginning around 10:40 a.m. when a caller told police about overtime parking violations. At 12:40 p.m. police were back and wrote more.

Police went to Pleasant Street around 7:30 a.m. yesterday after a 50-year-old woman was reportedly experiencing chest pains. Action Ambulance and firefighters went to the scene.

Someone spoke to police regarding unspecified suspicious activity on Strathmore Road around 7:50 a.m. yesterday.

A citizen reported walking by the salon on Foster Street and noticing the door locked and the telephone off the hook around 10:15 p.m. A patrolman checked things out and reported that all was okay.

An ambulance crew and firefighters went to an Audubon Road business where a worker was experiencing chest pains around 11:15 a.m.

Police went to Main Street Greenwood to deal with an accident involving three vehicles around noon time yesterday. A 2007 Toyota Corolla was pulling out of a parking space heading south when it came into contact with a 2005 Nissan Altima heading in the same direction. One of the cars was then pushed into a 2003 Hyundai Sonata that was parked and unoccupied.

At 12:23 p.m. yesterday police were told that a young woman found numerous needles outside the pool doors at Colonial Point Apartments on Audubon Road.

A verbal confrontation was reported just before 5 p.m. at the 7-Eleven on Albion Street.

An erratic, speeding motor vehicle was reported on Main Street in the Square last night just after 6 p.m. The operator reportedly failed to yield for pedestrians crossing the street and there was yelling out of the car windows. Police were given a description of the vehicle but could not locate it.

A loud group was reported in the courtyard/pool area of Colonial Point Apartments last night around 10:15 p.m. Police spoke to the group about the noise.

A concerned citizen asked police to check on the well-being of an elderly man walking in the area of Main and Sweetser streets around 11:20 last night. Police said the man lived in the area and made it home safely.

This morning around 2:30 a.m. on Old Colony Drive, people out in the street were reportedly causing a disturbance. Police responded and found things quiet.

A caller told police of a motor vehicle at one of the homes under construction on Longmeadow Drive around 2:35 a.m. today. Those in the vehicle were sent on their way.

A car was reportedly vandalized while parked on Salem Street sometime before 6:20 this morning.

Firefighters went on 10 runs in the 24 hours beginning at 9 a.m. yesterday. Seven of those were medical aid calls.
They also went to 318 Water St. at about 7:40 a.m. today to put out a mulch fire.
