WAKEFIELD — Palmira A. Salimbene, 96, of Wakefield died on Wednesday, March 25, at her residence.

Born in Boston on Sept. 14, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Erminia (Guarina) Sorrentine.

Mrs. Salimbene was a graduate of East Boston High School, Class of 1935. She was a retired sales clerk at Jordan Marsh in Boston.

Mrs. Salimbene was the wife of the late Charles Salimbene. She is survived by her daughter Charlotte Lawton of Wakefield; her two sisters, Gloria Rossi of Stoneham and Yolanda Quinn of Reading; her five grandchildren: John, Paul and James Lawton and Robert Salimbene and Karen Brumett; her two great-grandchildren Michael Salimbene and Christian Brumett, and her three great-great-grandchildren: Avon Lea, Kyla and Faeryn. Mrs. Salimbene was predeceased by her son Robert Salimbene.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday at Woodlawn Cemetery Chapel, 302 Elm St., Everett at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home in Wakefield.
