LYNNFIELD – Wakefield Co-operative Bank awarded Lynnfield High School senior and baseball player, Nicholas Pascucci, a $1,000 scholarship at the baseball team’s end of season banquet recently.
Pascucci was chosen as the scholarship recipient for his leadership, sportsmanship and positive attitude, all helping to carry the team to the semifinals in the MIAA tournament.
The scholarship was organized by Lynnfield Baseball Boosters, a non-profit recently established to promote the game of baseball in Lynnfield and encourage participation and sportsmanship.
“One of our hopes since becoming established was to provide a scholarship to a deserving senior,” said Michael Juliano, treasurer of Lynnfield Baseball Boosters. “Quite frankly, we weren’t sure it would be feasible this year but Wakefield Co-operative Bank truly stepped up to the plate, so to speak, and we were delighted by their generosity and enthusiasm about being involved.”
Nicholas Pascucci is slated to attend Bentley University in the fall, where he’ll play baseball and study Finance.
