MELROSE — Patricia A. (Farrington) Christanko, 69, of Melrose passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on January 12.
Patricia was born in Malden on December 13, 1946, was raised in Everett and graduated from Everett Vocational School in 1964. She lived in Lynn for many years, Florida for a few years and the past 5 years in Melrose.
Pat worked as a filing clerk and secretary at the New England Medical Center in Boston and for a local bank. Mrs. Christanko enjoyed going to the VFW dances, spending time with her friends at the McCarthy House, going for coffee or attending potluck dinners.
She liked going to Kowloon, she loved her dogs especially Sheba. But above everything else Pat was completely dedicated to her grandchildren.
Mrs. Christanko was the beloved wife of the late Peter W. Christanko. She was the loving mother of Meagan DeLeon and her husband Willy of Peabody and Nathaniel Christanko of Lynn. She ws the cherished grandmother of Jonathan Whooley of Stoneham, Eoghen Whooley of Methuen and Neveah DeLeon of Peabody. She was the caring sister of Peter Farrington and his late wife Patricia of Middleboro and the late John Farrington and his wife Karen of Middleboro. Aunt of Kelly, Patrick and Kristen as well as several other nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws and friends.
The funeral will be from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Friday, January 15, at 7:45 a.m., followed by A Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, Herbert Street, Melrose at 9 a.m.
Burial will at Pine Grove Cemetery in Lynn.
