WAKEFIELD — Patricia Ann Andrews, age 79 of Wakefield, died Friday, September 3 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

Born in Cambridge on May 26, 1942 she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ethel (Broadbent) Bowers.

Patricia was raised in Cambridge and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School. She had been a longtime Wakefield resident and was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church. She loved the beach, most especially her trips to Hilton Head, SC. Patricia also loved taking scenic car trips during the fall to enjoy the changing of the leaves. She had a soft spot for animals and enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports.

She was the beloved wife of Herbert W. Andrews. She was the loving mother of Herbert “Herb” Andrews, Jr. and his wife, Shana, of Wakefield and Amanda Hammond and her husband, Kevin Michael, of Salem. She was the sister of the late Joseph Bowers and his surviving wife, Patricia Bowers, of NH. She was the cherished grandmother of Herb III, Ryan, Jonathan, and Noah; and great grandmother of Herb IV and Brayden. Many nieces, nephews and extended family members also survive her.

Her funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Friday, September 10 at 10 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday, September 9 from 4-7 p.m.
