Retired Sears department store clerk
LYNNFIELD — Patricia A. Gwynn, 74 of Lynnfield, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center.
Mrs. Gwynn was born in Scotland on Aug. 3, 1940. She was the daughter of the late James A. and Helen (McCaul) Laing.
Mrs. Gwynn was raised in Grangemouth, Scotland. After graduating in 1957, she moved to Toronto, Canada at the age of 18 before settling in Braintree. At the age of 20 she met the love of her life, William Gwynn, while strolling on Sweeper Street in Boston one sunny afternoon. They were married six months later. After moving to Lynnfield in 1982, she became a member of St. Maria Goretti Church.
Mrs. Gwynn had been a retired clerk for the Sears department store in Saugus. She enjoyed traveling and going to Foxwoods with her dear friends Mary and Leslie. She also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Gwynn was the wife of the late William S. Gwynn. She was the mother of Kelly A. Gwynn-Newsome and her husband Jeff of Salem; Kristine Marengi and her husband David of Lynnfield, and Michael P. Gwynn of Amesbury. She was the sister of Philip Laing of Braintree and the late Danny Duggan. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass for Mrs. Gwynn was held in St. Maria Goretti Church, 112 Chestnut St., Lynnfield on Tuesday, Jan. 20. There were no calling hours. Arrangements were in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
