Granger-obit-webPARKVILLE, MD — Paul Francis Granger, 81, of Parkville, Maryland passed away surrounded by his loving family on April 18.

Paul was born in Worcester, MA on September 28, 1933 to the late George A. and Mary B. (Faucher) Granger. He grew up in Charleton, MA and graduated from Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA in 1955. Paul was in the Glee Club at Holy Cross, and was a member of the Varsity 4 quartet.

Paul was a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Air Force from1955-1958 and was stationed in Buzzard’s Bay, MA and Waco, TX.

He married Barbara A. Thompson in 1956 and had five children. Paul had a career in life insurance and was a Certified Life Underwriter and a member of the Professional Insurance Marketing Association (PIMA) for many years. The Granger family lived in Massachusetts, Maryland, Oklahoma City, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and New Jersey before retiring in Timonium, MD in 1999.

Paul was an active alumni and supporter of Holy Cross College. He attended many homecoming games and reunions over the years and cherished the lifelong friendships that he made at Holy Cross.

He is survived by his five children Nancy Cormier and her late husband Michael of Helena, Montana; Susan Thomas and her husband Bill of Oakland, MD; David Granger and his wife Kim of Owings Mills, MD; Mary Landry and her husband Ed of Phoenix, MD; and Christine Granger Coyne of Phoenix, MD.

He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren: Christopher Granger, Katie Landry, Cooper Thomas, Drew Landry, Madeline Cormier, Zachary Thomas, Michael Landry, Aidan Cormier, Finley Coyne, and Ellie Coyne, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held at Ruck Funeral Home, 1050 York Road, Towson, MD on Friday, April 24th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. followed by a mass of Christian burial at Immaculate Heart of Mary, 8501 Loch Raven Blvd, Baltimore, MD on Saturday, April 25th at 9:00 am.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
